The Galaxy S Wi-Fi. Androids answer to the iPod

 Samsung has rebranded their future line of Smartplayers.  What was formally known as the Samsung Galaxy Player has now been renamed the Samsung Galaxy S Wi-Fi.  The most popular Android based device with a rising OS is a stiff competitor to the Apple iPod Touch. As for the Zune….the what?

Lets have a little analogy fun.  The Samsung Galaxy S Wi-Fi is to the Samsung Galaxy S as the iPod Touch is to the iPhone.  That about sums it up.  The Android OS is coming up in the ranks of the mobile world, and now it looks like its taking on the Smartplayers in the world.  We all know how poor the Zune did but thats because Microsoft can’t really cut it in the mobile device world.  But when we head up Android against iOS we could really some interesting competition.  With the full Android market and all the bells and whistles we see coming along with it, we could have a great device on our hands.  Lets check out the specs.

800×480 screen, 1 GHz processor, 3.2 megapixel camera, front facing camera, 8GB or 16GB models coming in 4-inch and 5-inch sizes.

They are both going to be released first over seas, then they will make their way over to the U.S. We sure are looking forward to their arrival.  Stay tuned.
